REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERENCES

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Program/Project Coordinator.

This announcement will remain active until a sufficient number of applications have been received and may close at any time.

General Description
Manages and coordinates, with considerable independence, all activities of a particular program/project within a section or agency.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)

Requires two (2) years experience in a staff or administrative capacity managing special projects, programs or business operations appropriate to the area of assignment or closely related experience.

Special Certifications and Licenses Required
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license based on area of assignment.
Ability to secure and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification card (TWIC) within 60 days of employment and for the duration of employment.
Ability to secure and maintain a valid Seaport Business Purpose Credential for the duration of employment.

Project Management Professional (PMP)
2+ years Contract Management experience
2+ years Grant Management experience
2+ years Project Management experience
Two years Peoplesoft experience - budget tracking and/or purchasing related
Two years of procurement experience

SCOPE OF WORK

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

  • Assist the Security Manager with a variety of activities relating to security programs, contract, budgeting and program monitoring.

  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Port Everglades Security Systems and Infrastructure Capital Improvement Program through supporting program and project development and implementation.

  • Develop project scopes of work, bid specifications, and evaluation criteria.

  • Conduct solicitation reviews, user concurrence and reference verifications; issues notice-to-proceed documentation, and conduct project final acceptance review.

  • Conduct security services oversight and performance monitoring by tracking and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual reports, vacancy reports and review and process vendor payments.

  • Prepare federal/state grant submission actions by reviewing notices of funding opportunities, develop item justifications, Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation (EHP) reports and detailed budget worksheets; draft and submit quarterly reports and prepare close-out actions.

  • Conduct property on-boarding, asset tagging, distribution, disposal, and inventory. Manage a robust budget by forecasting and tracking expenditures and assess financial impacts and operational needs. Create and manage purchase orders and purchase requisitions as well as managing any purchasing card procurements. Draft various correspondence, schedule meetings, prepare presentations, and file documents.

  • Manage vendor contracts, invoice billing, payments and any related problem resolutions. Attend meetings, conferences, seminars, and training.

  • Perform other related duties as required.
