AMD together we advance_ Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring MTS Software Development Engineers to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Plan, design, develop and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products. Develop mathematical representations to reinterpret and simplify tensor operations, implement infrastructure for new programming paradigms in high level language, and reduce kernel development complexity. Work with AI compiler develops to implement programming paradigm and automate high-performance kernels. Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance such as implementation of algorithms in AMD GCN assembly language. Solve critical system/software issues and work with engineering AMD's open-source GPU compute SW stack (ROCm). Participate in code reviews, create unit tests, author detailed documentation related to your work, and work with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule. Partake in all phases of the software development including system requirements analysis, coordinate feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries. Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Multiple openings. Travel required: NO Qualifications: Degree required Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role. Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: 1.Performing software verification; 2.C or C++; 3.2D/3D graphics; 4.Machine-Learning; 5.Git; 6.Object Oriented design; 7.Code optimization using the GPU or software performance analysis; and 8.Software debugging using macOS, Linux, or Unix. #LI-DP1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
