Lead, Instructional Designer
Job Description: THE ROLE The Advanced Purity Solutions (APS) Training Team is seeking an Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer will work closely with the Training Managers to create engaging learning solutions for our Manufacturing plants across the United States. The ID will be responsible for: defining and documenting learning objectives, conducting research and collaborating with subject experts, creating instructional material: courses, curriculum, student guides and training manuals, designing content to optimize learning, redesigning existing content, creating visual, audio and interactive learning tools. This position is based in our Bloomington, MN facility. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and develop training solutions using ADDIE or similar instructional design method.
- Determine best delivery method for each requested training; Instructor Led, eLearning, blended, etc.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, leadership, and other stakeholders to analyze training needs.
- Work closely with other instructional designers and trainers.
- Develop instructionally sound, engaging, and interactive learning solutions.
- Review existing material to recommend and implement improvements to align with instructional standards.
- Create course assessments and certifications.
- Maintain courses and track training through the Learning Management System.
- Produce evaluation tools and plans to ensure program success.
- Develop instructional support resources, including job aids, videos, how to guides, Learner and Facilitator Guides, FAQ's, and tutorials.
- Manage curriculum and training projects and communicate updates to team members, stakeholders, and managers.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships and knowledge sharing across the organization.
- Excellent written and content development skills required.
- Ability to create project plans and complete deliverables according to deadlines.
- Ability to communicate between user and technical groups required.
- Provide Learning Management System support to users as needed.
- Complete additional tasks assigned.
WHAT WE SEEK
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design. Education, Curriculum Design, or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years' experience in instructional design. Certifications from a leading training organization preferred.
- Three plus years of experience in eLearning curriculum development
- Experience with authoring tools such as Articulate (Storyline or Rise).
- Comfortable facilitating as needed.
- Self-starter with the ability to communicate across organizational levels.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage others.
- Expertise in adult learning theory and practice.
