Application Window Open date: September 18, 2025 Next review date: Friday, Oct 3, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Mar 18, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Associate Specialist (Dr. Roselle Abraham's Team) JOB DESCRIPTON Summary: Our lab aims to understand the mechanisms underlying metabolic remodeling and cardiac fibrosis in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), using mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cells. The Associate Specialist will be focused on basic research, and needs to be proficient in mouse colony management, culture and cardiac differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSCs), production of lentivirus/adenovirus/adeno-associated virus, cell transduction, cell line generation, live cell imaging, histology, microscopy, biochemical assays in cells, isolated mitochondria and tissue homogenates, PCR, qPCR, data analysis, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in mouse models, maintenance of laboratory equipment, freezer monitoring, maintaining laboratory SOPs, bio/environmental safety compliance, supply ordering. Desired qualifications: The ideal candidate is passionate about learning new skills and works well independently, or with a team. They will take the initiative in the lab and have a strong interest in the cardiovascular system. Additional qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively present scientific results to other scientists Required Qualifications: Must have at least a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
