Our client is a full-service home medical equipment company offering a wide range of products including CPAP machines, ventilators, bath aids, and more. We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our Traverse City team and support patients with medical equipment needs, insurance coordination, and administrative support.
*Key Responsibilities:* * Provide exceptional customer service via inbound/outbound calls and email. * Educate patients and caregivers on the use and care of respiratory equipment. * Troubleshoot equipment issues and explain insurance coverage and financial responsibilities. * Process orders, schedule deliveries, and verify referral documentation. * Collaborate with Respiratory Department staff and Program Managers. * Maintain accurate records and ensure HIPAA compliance. * Assist walk-in patients with equipment returns and pickups. *Required Qualifications:* * 1-3 years of customer service or administrative experience in a *medical, insurance, or office setting*. * Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical equipment and insurance details clearly. * Detail-oriented with a high level of empathy and patience. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows systems. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist patients into seated positions. * High School Diploma or equivalent. *Preferred Qualifications:* * Medical Assistant, CNA, or insurance verification experience. * Familiarity with medical terminology, billing, or HIPAA regulations. * Interest in or pursuing a degree in Respiratory Therapy. *On-Call Rotation (Post-Direct Hire):* * Remote on-call availability 1-3 times/month. * Must have access to a private, secure location with Wi-Fi and computer. * Compensation: * Weekdays (5 PM-9 PM): $25 stipend * Weekends (9 AM-9 PM): $60 stipend * Hourly wage paid for time spent on calls, plus stipend even if no calls are received. *Work Environment:* * On-site at the Traverse City store. * Business casual attire or scrubs. * Must wear closed-toe shoes. *Employee Value Proposition:* * Family-oriented culture with company outings and branded gear. * Hands-on training with management (approx. 1 month). * Strong potential for direct hire and career growth. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
