The Opportunity

Adobe is seeking a Senior Principal Architect to join our AI team within Document Cloud. This role will have the opportunity to shape how hundreds of millions of users experience knowledge work and tens of billions of documents every month. This role will partner closely with product, architecture, engineering and design teams to influence, co-create and ship AI features that scales to hundreds of millions of users. What You'll Do

  • Work closely with product, design and engineering teams to co-create AI solutions in an agile and fast paced environment.

  • Drive deep architecture discussions across SMEs to develop architectures that serve immediate needs and evolve with the rapidly changing AI technologies

  • Architect and drive the implementation of AI/ML platforms and services that support consumer and enterprise use cases across multiple products and surfaces.

  • Serve as a senior technical leader with vision and trusted advisor to senior leadership.

  • Mentor, coach and develop next generation of technical leaders

  • Lead architectural reviews and provide hands-on guidance and expert advice for solution design, data pipelines, model deployment, and orchestration frameworks.

  • Stay ahead of emerging AI technologies and industry trends and evaluate their applicability to Adobe's internal ecosystem.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience on architecting and shipping consumer products for millions of users, with at least a couple of years focused on AI/ML systems.

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, including data engineering, model training, MLOps, and responsible AI practices.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering innovative AI solutions using platforms such as AWS, Azure AI, Google GCP / Vertex AI, Databricks, OpenAI and Claude.

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members and being able to influence senior leadership on strategy.

  • Experience working in a large, matrixed environment with multiple product groups and technology stacks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience architecting highly scalable micro-services and low latency data pipelines

  • Experience analyzing and optimizing large scale systems for latency and reliability

  • Expertise integrating AI technologies into highly scalable consumer products

  • Experience building systems with AI technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, OpenSearch, Embeddings, Databricks, OpenAI GPT, Gemini models

  • Bachelor's or equivalent in computer science, machine learning or related fields

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $209,900 -- $414,300 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
