This role will focus on enabling customer reports in Tableau, collaborating with cross-functional teams to validate requirements, building data mapping and delivering reporting solution that meets customer expectations.

What you will be doing:

  • Elicit and understand reporting requirements to generate business insights for users.
  • Review and assess existing reports for data usage to create common data sets.
  • Create reports in Power BI, improving efficiency where possible.
  • Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data under the supervision of experienced analysts or data scientists.
  • Prepare reports and create data visualizations.
  • Help identify trends or patterns that inform business decisions.
  • Manage automated regulatory, financial, and executive reporting processes.
  • Create and manage validation testing suites on all reporting processes.
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications to existing databases.
  • Work with Data Engineers to design and manage automated processes that are efficient, well-structured, maintainable, and easy to understand.
  • Work with software developers to understand changes to source data and determine the impact on the automated reporting system.
  • Provide timely responses and solutions on issues that arise in day-to-day automated reporting processes.
  • Continuously improve reporting implementation and adapt to changing technologies.
  • Participate in communicating and socializing developed reports while sharing insights.
  • Assist with additional change management, documentation, and communication tasks.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program that includes a Co-operative (Co-op) work component.
  • Pursuing a university degree in Business, Finance, Math, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of data management and reporting techniques; experience with Power BI is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of basic Python development.
  • Knowledge of Git.
  • Ability to understand and report on complex data and handle all edge cases.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Airflow, DBT, or Cron jobs.
Basic Requirements
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
