Overview

In this role, you will manage and analyze insurance claims related to commercial construction projects. Under supervision of the Risk Manager, this role supports the company's risk management efforts by ensuring timely and accurate claims resolution, identifying risk trends, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to reduce future exposures.

Job Responsibilities:

    Manage and monitor claims related to general liability, workers' compensation, builder's risk, and subcontractor default insurance
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, TPAs, legal counsel, and project teams to ensure proper claims handling
  • Maintain accurate and complete claim documentation in accordance with company policies
  • Analyze claims data to identify trends, root causes, and areas of risk exposure
  • Prepare and present regular reports and dashboards to senior management
  • Recommend improvements to claims handling procedures and risk mitigation strategies
  • Support training initiatives for project teams on claims prevention and reporting
  • Serve as a liaison between construction operations, legal, finance, and insurance providers
  • Provide guidance on insurance coverage, policy interpretation, and claims best practices
  • Travel as required

Education & Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in construction claims, preferably in commercial construction.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Strong understanding of commercial construction operations and insurance policies (GL, AL, WC, Builder's Risk, SDI)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, claims management systems, and risk analysis tools
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Establish goals of "excellency" in work product and ability to constantly strive toward that

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
