This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces, and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The Manufacturing Associate (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for handling sophisticated technical tasks in production operations, including equipment setup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality monitoring. The role involves collaboration with Production Technicians and Electro-Mechanics to ensure smooth and efficient operations at our manufacturing site in Johns Creek, GA.

Specifics Include:

  • Undertake sophisticated technical responsibilities to aid production operations and improve efficiency within established protocols.

  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient performance.

  • Supervise output quality, identifying and addressing defective products through rework or discard processes.

  • Maintain accurate daily production records to support performance analysis.

  • Review work orders and schedule resources to meet production targets for volume, cost, waste reduction, and quality.

  • Follow schematics, engineering drawings, and verbal/written instructions to perform tasks accurately.

  • Conduct calibration, alignment checks, and equipment adjustments as needed to maintain standards.

  • Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions when required for production processes.

  • Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by closely following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining complete documentation, and completing all required training.

  • Contribute to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement, helping manufacturing operations' overall quality and efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

  • MA Assessment is required for internal candidates only before hire if no technical degree or certification has been acquired.

  • Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)

  • Travel Requirements: 0%

  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree in Engineering/Science/IT or Technical Certification

  • Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred
