Reports to: R&D Culinary Supervisor and Corporate Executive Chef

Date: December 2024

The IMSS Clerk is responsible for software input and validation of all the data entries related to menu development under the supervision of the culinary team. The clerk will also work with the IMSS development team to provide feedback related to user experience and functionality improvement.

Essential Functions

  • Input recipes, methods, and all necessary data related to dish development and creation in proprietary software.
  • Create items in the database, validate and/or update existing ones.
  • Follow methods and business rules related to the input method.
  • Validate arithmetic values used in recipes as yield, and portion size.
  • Understand and use metrics or the US imperial system of measurement.
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time and be flexible to switch between these projects as needed.
  • Able to communicate with other departments and management.
  • Capable of understanding Chef needs and able to accurately transcribe them into recipes.
  • Capable of performing research through the Internet to validate or correct inaccurate data.
  • Able to take initiative when needed.
  • Quick learner and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Other tasks may be assigned by the manager.



Skills and Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum two years of related experience
  • Knowledgeable in Menu recipe preparation in the food industry a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint) and able to learn other applications as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of culinary terms, techniques, and equipment.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Experience in cooking is a plus.
  • Good Team Player as well as working independently.
  • Good communication skills. Fluent in English (reading, writing, and comprehension)
  • Bilingual in Chinese or Mandarin a plus.



Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office and fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses standard office and kitchen equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to sit and stand for long periods and reach with hands and arms. Use of keyboard for input and multiple screens (two to three) at the same time, managing multiple sources of data.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility with weekdays, evenings, and weekends is required.
