Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, SC, AL, AR, CT, DE, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MS, MT, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, RI, SD, UT, VA, WV

The Senior Director is responsible for the enterprise-wide Project Portfolio Management function. This key leadership role utilizes industry insight and experience to build clarity, discipline, and foresight into how we invest time, talent, and budget. Oversees the full portfolio lifecycle: prioritization, sequencing, capacity/demand management, governance, reporting, budget alignment, and analytics. Serve as the business owner for the portfolio management tool, working with leaders to drive adoption, optimization, and data accuracy. Partners with executives, business leaders, and delivery teams to develop solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Leadership - Drive enterprise-wide project prioritization and sequencing to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Capacity & Demand Management - Lead forecasting, resource planning, and trade-off decisions to facilitate efficient and sustainable project delivery.
  • Governance & Methodology - Establish and refine project management standards, governance practices, and compliance with enterprise frameworks.
  • Financial Oversight - Monitor and report on project budgets, spend vs. forecast, and ROI of portfolio investments.
  • Reporting & Analytics - Deliver executive-level reporting, dashboards, and insights; analyze portfolio performance data to surface trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Leadership & Influence - Partner with executives, business leaders, and delivery teams to enable decision-making, resolve conflicts, and champion a portfolio mindset across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in Strategy, Finance, Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Strategy, Finance, Analytics

Preferred Areas of Experience:

  • 10+ years experience leading project planning, prioritization & execution within a large matrixed organization
  • 10+ years experience leading portfolio management
  • 10+ years progressive leadership expertise
  • Proven ability to implement and drive strategic execution within a large financial institution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common goal
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Experience with PPM tools and practices
  • Undergraduate degree in business-related field
  • MBA
