About this opportunity

MillerKnoll's Summer Internship Program is a paid, 12-week opportunity that provides a 100% real-world experience for students early in their careers. Throughout the summer you will apply academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience with real-world engineering and design projects in a collaborative and innovative environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, problem-solving, and continuous learning.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the design and prototyping of special products and components
  • Conduct research and benchmarking to support product innovation
  • Perform testing and validation of prototypes and new designs
  • Analyze data and prepare technical reports and documentation for UL listing
  • Support the Specials team in CAD modeling, simulations, and design reviews
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and compliance teams to ensure product feasibility and alignment
  • Contribute to research efforts exploring new methodologies and innovative approaches

What You Bring
The needed skills and experience for this role include...

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for innovation and eagerness to learn.

Education

  • Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field
  • You must have a GPA of at least 3.0 (overall or within your program) to qualify for consideration in the Intern Program.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the US and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or withoutaccommodations
