Custodian - Full Time
Washington County, located in West Bend, Wisconsin has an opportunity for a full-time Custodian with our Facilities Management Division. Our team of Facilities professionals is responsible facility maintenance, operations, and construction at county facilities comprising approximately 1,070,000 square feet of space. We strive to provide visitors and county employees with a safe, clean, comfortable, and sustainable environment. Under the direction of the Custodial Services Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for performing custodial and minor maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
Qualified Candidate must possess:
*High School Diploma or GED.
*Previous custodial experience preferred.
*A valid Wisconsin driver's license required and must pass Sheriff's Department Security Clearance.
Starting hourly rate is $17.43.

Responsibilities:
*Sweeps, dusts all flat surfaces and mops floors.
*Collects and disposes of refuse including regular trash and recyclable trash. Maintains cleanliness of receptacles.
*Cleans and maintains all restroom areas. Restocks consumable materials.
*Cleans and maintains windows and storefronts inside and outside, walls and woodwork.
*Vacuums, shampoos and spot cleans all carpet areas. Vacuums floor mats and scrubs as needed.
*Maintains cleanliness of all furniture, fabric and hard covered, including tables, chairs, desks, etc.
*Sets up meeting rooms as requested.
*Picks up litter and cigarette butts, empties ash trays, and sweeps concrete walks.
*Clean/dust fixture lenses.
*Cleans HVAC grilles, registers, and diffusers as necessary.
*Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event
Work Direction Received: Works under the direction of the Custodial Environmental Services Supervisor.
Decision Making: Decisions concerning daily work priorities are made independently
Interaction: Interaction with other County Employees and the public.
Training and Experience: High School Diploma or GED and some previous custodial experience. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license and pass Sheriff's Department security clearance.
Essential Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of the practices and methods used in cleaning buildings. Ability to operate cleaning equipment, follow oral and written instructions, and interact effectively with co workers. Able to fulfill physical demands of job. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb stairs and a ladder. Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. Able to fulfill physical demands of job, sensory demands (seeing and hearing), and cognitive demands (concentration, conceptualization, memorization).
