PURPOSE: Responsible for the maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of the interior property of Mall of America while providing a memorable shopping and entertainment experience



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for preventive and general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the interior property of Mall of America.


  • Perform basic carpentry and construction tasks such as but not limited to painting, tiling, sheetrock repairs, replacing carpeting tiles, repairing and replacing flooring, installing and repairing signage, fixtures, doors, hardware, metal studs, framing, and others facility maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect MOA property, documenting needs for maintenance or repairs in Work Order system, update work order system upon completion of tasks.


  • Perform commercial plumbing repairs, identify and repair leaks,
  • fix toilets, sinks, facets, and clear drain stoppages.
  • Locate sources of plumbing leaks of tenants, report and relay concerns to sourced contractor.
  • Responsible for placing, hanging and setting all Mall holiday and event decor, which can include working on ariel lifts or ladders.
  • Responsible for setting up internal events, small- and large-scale marketing and entertainment event, including organizing and setting stanchions, setup and take down of staging, placement and removal of tables and chairs, and special assembly or construction for events.
  • Operate ariel lift to hang guide wires and banners during event and seasonal setups.
  • Ensure the overall safety of the immediate work area as well as surrounding areas.
  • Following local and state building code.
  • Assist other maintenance departments as needed.
  • Work temporary adjusted seasonal shifts for holiday setups, including nights and weekends.
  • Additional duties as assigned.



PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Graduate of a trade, technical, or vocational school with degree in building maintenance or related field, or equivalent, preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in building maintenance or construction
  • Previous work experience with commercial painting, ceramic tiling, carpentry, and plumbing
  • Working knowledge with use of variety of powered and non-powered tools, workshop equipment and hand tools used in carpentry, construction, plumbing etc.
  • Able to read and understand maps and schematics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to tolerate work at height, 12-85 feet on ladder and in aerial lift
  • Basic computer skills, understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, strongly preferred.



PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:


While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be required to speak and listen to co-workers, leaders and guests to understand maintenance needs and communicate a solution. Team members must also possess a level of hearing that will allow them to continuously be aware of their surroundings, including hearing and responding to alarms, radio communication, and sounds from machines and equipment to troubleshoot needs for repair and maintenance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Vision can be supplemented with corrective lenses, with the ability to wear eye protection and other required PPE to perform job duties Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, lights, colors, motion, and other visual stimuli, as well as hot/cold temperatures and other tactile stimuli.

STARTING PAY:


$19.71 - 24.64
