The Division of Medical Physics is part of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences. It is dedicated to clinical service, research and development, and education.

Medical physics involves applying physics principles and methods to diagnose and treat human diseases. The division participates in the routine clinical services of radiotherapy at various Hopkins locations, where we are responsible for the technical aspects of modern radiotherapy, including image-guided radiotherapy, intesity modulated radiotherapy, steriotactic body radiation therapy, adaptive radiotherapy, proton therapy, brachytherapy, and radionuclide therapy. These efforts ensure that the patients are receiving the highest quality and safest care possible.

The Division of Medical Physics is currently searching for a Physics Assistant to join their elite team. As a Physics Assistant you will:



  • Perform quality assurance measurements on radiation treatment machines, dose measurement instrumentation, and patient imaging systems.
  • Assist in the calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of dosimetry equipment.
  • Perform tests to validate patient position and collision avoidance for treatment delivery.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Coursework leading to a Baccalaureate degree in science or engineering
  • Preferred Bachelor's or Masters in Physics


Shift:



  • PRN (19 hours or less)
  • Day Shift

Salary Range: Minimum 31.92/hour - Maximum 52.69/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
