Company Overview
Performance Drone Works (PDW) builds technologies for the warfighter, by the warfighter. Born out of the Drone Racing League, our roots are competitive, our mindset is tactical, and our mission is clear: deliver purpose-built unmanned systems to those who serve. We are not here to sell vapor; we build and ship real capabilities for real missions.

Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Technical Configuration Manager to establish and mature configuration management processes across our Technical Programs department, enabling accurate and scalable management of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary owner of PDW's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (Duro, Teamcenter, Windchill) to ensure accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
  • Develop, structure, and manage complex Bills of Materials (BOMs) for R&D and production programs for PDW products.
  • Partner with engineering teams to mature the configuration management process and best practices.
  • Facilitate and run the Engineering Configuration Control Board (CCB), including agenda preparation, documentation, and tracking of actions.
  • Lead the maturation and continuous improvement of the CCB process as PDW scales its development and production activities.
  • Collaborate with production operations to ensure BOMs and configurations align with manufacturing and supply chain systems.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to engineering teams on effective use of the PLM system and configuration control processes.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor configuration status and program health.

Requirements

  • Expert-level experience using and administering PLM systems such as Duro, Siemens Teamcenter, or PTC Windchill.
  • Deep knowledge of configuration management principles and practices within engineering and production environments.
  • Expert-level experience in creating, managing, and structuring Bills of Materials (BOMs) for technical products.
  • Background in industries such as unmanned aircraft, aerospace, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated experience running or supporting a Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to facilitate cross-functional meetings.
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement and implement scalable configuration management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred

  • Experience implementing, configuring and maintaining a PLM system.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools.
