The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Supervise, train, coordinate, and participate in the activities of employees performing routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Assumes responsibility for recognizing results or problems that require referral to the Medical Director or Laboratory Director/Manager. Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chair of Pathology or his/her designee. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor s degree in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, biological, or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical laboratory Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Preferred: Experience in point of care testing ASCP certification Computer proficiency in Epic beaker and Telcor Scheduling Requirements: Full-Time Day Shift Essential Functions: Maintains Quality Standards for Point of Care Testing in accordance with state, federal, JCAHO and CAP requirements Performs all duties related to the training and certification of personnel involved in POCT Performs all related documentation tasks Participates in evaluating, documenting, and implementing new POCT systems Provides technical guidance to personnel Maintains all POCT related records Responsible for review of quality control records and proficiency testing records May be required to perform duties as Medical Technologist in section Perform other duties as requested by the department Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
