Join Our Team as a Machine Shop Team Leader at Epiroc!

As a Machine Shop Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in achieving operational excellence within our manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for leading and supporting your team to meet objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost while maintaining high standards of compliance and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader with the ability to flex between supervisory responsibilities and direct daily operations when needed.

Work Type:Onsite at Milwaukie facility

Shift Timings:1 opening on first shift, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 1 opening on second shift, 3:30 pm to midnight

Responsibilities:



  • Manage plant operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost goals.
  • Oversee production, ensuring efficiency and on-time delivery.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to improve processes and performance.
  • Balance supervisory tasks with hands-on operational support when needed.
  • Train and cross-train employees to enhance workforce versatility.
  • Implement and audit cross-training programs regularly.
  • Foster team engagement through collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate goals clearly and ensure adherence to safety protocols and SOPs.
  • Actively participate in safety efforts and maintain compliance.
  • Promote a Lean/Continuous Improvement culture and uphold 5S standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
  • Maintain high inventory accuracy through proper processes and collaboration with key departments.



Salary Range:The salary for this position is between $28.08 and $39.41 hourly, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards.

Knowledge/Education:



  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy duty machining/manufacturing environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience using proper lifting technique, lifting devices (chains, straps, slings), electric pallet jacks, forklifts, hand truck and overhead crane preferred.



Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to lead team members in a safe manner to achieve production goals.
  • Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions.
  • Ability to understand function of gauges and can read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of Navision and 3rd-party logistics provider software programs preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
