DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for operating a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks, vans, buses, and specialized coaches, to facilitate the transportation of residents to and from the facility for medical appointments, treatments, transfers, and recreational activities, both locally and over longer distances. It is essential to assist with and ensure that all locking devices are securely fastened on residents and their equipment before the vehicle is in motion, thereby prioritizing the safety of those being transported.

You will also perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance, which includes washing, waxing, cleaning, greasing, and checking fluid levels, while assisting an auto mechanic with more significant repairs as needed.
When not engaged in vehicle operation, your responsibilities will extend to loading and unloading vehicles, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, keeping accurate records and logs of equipment usage, and completing necessary paperwork. Safe and proper use of hand and power tools is expected, along with adherence to the DMVA's general safety rules and specific safety protocols for this role. It is imperative to report any workplace injuries or incidents to your supervisor immediately and to address any safety hazards in the work area promptly.
