Blood Transfusion Coordinator - Oncology, Marina Del Rey

In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating/coordinating/scheduling blood transfusions and infusions for community Hem/Onc patients at Bowyer, Pfleger, CTRC or other available infusion facilities. You will apply acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to manage their assignments, coordinate work with teammates, and exercise judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. You will work directly with Hem/Onc community clinic staff, providers and patients to provide information and the completenecessary documentation to assure quality care. Coordinator monitors daily activities including clerical activities, authorizations, scheduling, and referral coordination.

Salary range: $33.60/hr - $50.93/hr

Required:

• At least two years oncology scheduling or authorization experience
• Previous demonstrated leadership experience in a busy, complex outpatient setting
• Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions
• Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, providers, and fellows from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds
• Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal situations
• Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multi-specialty setting into a productive working environment
• Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health
• Ability to work overtime in cases of emergency
• Working knowledge of patient related policies and procedures as well as a thorough understanding of the University system and it services and programs
• At least one year of oncology experience
• Knowledge of hospital computer systems, personal computer systems and the various software products to perform administrative work
