Job Description:

The QAI Inspection Specialist is responsible to provide leadership for the daily operations of raw material receipt, control, inspection, and distribution of samples, for both the JHS off-site and on-site QA Inspection areas. The Specialist will provide direction and make recommendations on final disposition of all components. This position provides direction and support of daily activities for the QAI team through scheduling and assignment of tasks. The Specialist will assist the QAI Supervisor in establishing and maintaining a program to ensure the appropriate training of the QAI team.

The QAI Inspection Senior Specialist(In addition to the above): The individual in this position is expected to support the QAI Supervisor within established systems while proposing opportunities to improve and implement new systems to increase site compliance and team efficiency. The Senior Specialist will provide direction and make recommendations on final disposition of all components. This position provides direction and support of daily activities for the QAI team through scheduling and assignment of tasks. The Senior Specialist will assist the QAI Supervisor to establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, and the programs to ensure the appropriate training of the QAI team.

  • Control receipt, handling, inspection, sampling, and distribution of incoming components and recommend final disposition.
  • Assist to organize and prioritize daily activities of the QAI team.
  • Identify, isolate, and control quarantined raw materials, damaged goods, and vendor complaints until final disposition has been determined.
  • Facilitate and maintain qualification training of QAI vial test sets, and utilizing the PDA Technical Report 43 for the classification of glass defects.
  • Perform multiple computer workstation tasks as needed through the appropriate Excel, SAP, LMS, and Trackwise programs.
  • Represent QAI areas during regulatory and vendor audits, and interact with auditors.
  • Assist in trouble shooting and providing quality assessments for materials as needed.
  • Provide leadership in implementing process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned by department supervisor

QAI Inspection Senior Specialist (In addition to the above):

  • Control receipt, handling, inspection, sampling, and distribution of incoming components, APIs, Drug Substances, chemicals and recommend final disposition.
  • Inspect, control history, and recommend final disposition for all incoming printed materials distributed with final product.
  • Traveling to the JHS off-site warehouse to assist with inspection, audits, and other duties as directed by the department Supervisor.
  • Develop and maintain clear, concise, and accurate record/reports, and perform multiple computer workstation tasks as needed through the appropriate Excel, SAP, LMS, MC, and Trackwise programs.
  • Create and revise Standard Operating Procedures and Material Specifications for QAI department.
  • Facilitate and maintain training/learning activities/opportunities as directed by the department Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Associates of Arts desired.
  • No experience required with Associates of Arts degree, OR 2 years' experience with High School Diploma.
  • Pharmaceutical experience required.
  • 14/14 Corrected Near-Point required
  • Pass Color Deficiency Test required
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted required.
  • Exposure to allergens required.
  • Repetitive activity, prolonged sitting and standing required.
  • Ability to use forklift required.

QAI Inspection Senior Specialist (In addition to the above):

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience required. Pharmaceutical experience desired.
  • Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to lead.

Shift: Weekday days, Monday-Friday

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

Hiring Wage:

  • QAI Inspection Specialist: $30.99-$41.93/hr. Depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
  • QAI Inspection Senior Specialist: $35.65 - $48.23/hr. Depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
