OpenShift Systems Engineer \| DevOps & Automation Focus Location: Hybrid (4 days remote / 1 day onsite in Denver, CO) Team Size: 10 (2 direct teammates) Employment Type: Contract - W2 Join the forefront of containerization innovation! We're seeking a skilled and passionate OpenShift Systems Engineer to help lead our transformation from VMware to OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). This is a unique opportunity to be part of the first team fully migrating to OpenShift in our organization, shaping the future of our infrastructure in a dynamic development and lab environment. Key Responsibilities * Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift (v4.12+) clusters, with a strong focus on on-prem environments. * Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift and GitLab CI. * Automate cluster provisioning and maintenance using Ansible, Helm, and other tools. * Monitor and optimize cluster performance, scalability, and reliability. * Troubleshoot across infrastructure, platform, and container layers. * Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support containerized workloads and microservices. * Document architecture, configurations, and migration processes. * Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to internal teams. What You Bring * 5+ years as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer. * Deep hands-on experience with OpenShift OCP (v4.12+ preferred). * Strong background in VMware vSphere and virtualized on-prem workloads. * Proficiency in automation tools like Ansible and Helm. * Experience with CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices. Nice-to-Haves * Cloud platform experience. * Broader systems administration background. * Exposure to OpenShift Virtualization.
