Job Description Oversee the creation and maintenance of configurable products in support of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) rollout, across the Cornerstone Building Brands Apertures business, ensuring accurate, high-quality, and timely cross-functional product realization. Responsibilities:
- Lead and organize a team responsible for executing product configuration projects using various systems, BOM documentation as well as product specification and internal business processes.
- Own and drive all corporate programs focused on aligning various legacy product processes and systems to ensure development of a single business process, system and KPIs to facilitate BOM configuration, quality and execution timeliness.
- Manage a large cross-company software implementation to create accurate product configurations that meet marketing, engineering, finance and operations specifications.
- Provide comprehensive management for large Product configuration initiative and related activities, working closely with the multiple teams to troubleshoot, resolve and document data discrepancies.
- Manage the Product Configurator Team, allocating resources, prioritizing initiatives, and aligning conflicting needs to ensure accurate product configuration.
- Lead the creation of business processes linking various product lifecycle tools such as PLM, ERP, order entry systems, to manage configuration system implementation, priorities, approval processes and timelines.
- Guide and mentor a team of configurators, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Invest in the professional development of direct reports including coaching, performance reviews, and long-term career guidance.
- Hands-on team management capability: proactive problem-solving attitude providing guidance and solutions, helping configurators deliver on time/ accurately (identifying risks and ways to get back on track, if needed).
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, supply chain and master data team for Bill of material configuration and management to reduce complexity and parts duplication.
- Experience and strong understanding of discrete manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, safety, quality processes, cost, purchasing, engineering etc.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a pragmatic approach and an eye for the essentials.
- Strong interpersonal skills (from executive team to the Shopfloor)
- Take end-to-end ownership of the configuration process and implementation of configuration tools.
- Build a strong relationship and collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Master Data, Customer Service, IT, Supply Chain Finance and Operations Teams to streamline Product Data configuration releases, updates, and changes.
- Help lead cross functional dialogue aimed at resolving issues and identify process gaps opportunities that require stakeholder decisions or review business processes.
- Manages the ongoing support to day-to-day configurations team operations, ensuring continuous product configuration data quality and integrity.
- Engage in the Engineering Change Process to ensure a smooth integration within operational frameworks.
- Collaborate with the ERP Team to provide Configurator support as needed for ERP system developments.
- Manage testing product configurations to guarantee accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement and influence key stakeholders to drive for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance item master data processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Enforce strict data governance, security and compliance standards to protect company data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in systems and data management, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity (required)
- Experience in managing product portfolios, including new product development in support of Engineering & Operations (required).
- Experience in large scale, multi-site ERP implementation.
- Experience in systems integration leveraging API's
- Experience managing physically dispersed teams and multi-site operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with discrete manufacturing industry, configurable products (strongly preferred) or building products (preferred)
- Proven track record of successfully building high performance team responsible for systems implementation and change management.
- Demonstrated leadership in technology, with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous data-related challenges and drive strategic business outcomes.
- Robust project and program management expertise, capable of orchestrating multiple initiatives, managing resources, and adhering to stringent deadlines.
- Experience working in KANBAN/ Agile / Scrum project management methodologies
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Up to 15% travel required
Additional Information The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$155,000 + bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
