A Brief Overview
The US LBM Sales Trainer equips all US LBM sales professionals and leaders with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. This person works with Regional and Divisional Leadership to understand local sales training and development needs and develop and execute tailored solutions to assist with improving performance. This position will help develop engaging and impactful training materials, including presentations, exercises, and assessments to empower sales professionals to effectively communicate US LBM's value, employ sales strategies, negotiate deals, and build and maintain successful customer relationships.
What you will do
- Develop and deliver comprehensive sales training programs for sales professionals and sales leaders.
- Collaborate with the Learning and Org. and Development team to create engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, exercises, and assessments.
- Partner with the Learning & OD and HR Field teams to assess training needs and identify skill gaps within the sales team.
- Conduct training sessions, both in-person and virtually, to educate sales team members on product knowledge, sales techniques, the US LBM selling process, negotiation skills, and customer relationship management.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to sales team members to reinforce training concepts and improve performance.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, sales methodologies, and new product offerings to incorporate into training programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to gather insights and understand specific sales needs.
- Maintain accurate training records and prepare reports on training activities and outcomes.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in business, finance, human resources, adult learning,facilitation, ora related field required.
Experience Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in training and development or related discipline, with facilitation experience ideally within both large and small companies.
- Background in sales or sales leadership a plus.
- Experience facilitating both in-person and virtual sessions.
- Proven experience as a Sales Trainer or similar role, preferably in the construction materials industry.
- Knowledge of construction materials and the construction industry a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in training software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Workday Learning or other Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels (Executive to business analysts) to successfully build consensus, influence without authority, and get decisions implemented.
- Excellent communication and the ability to translate sales and industry terminology, concepts, and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure and time constraints.
- Must always maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Strong knowledge of sales strategies, techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Ability to adapt training methods and materials to various learning styles and audiences.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organization and time management skills to handle multiple projects and priorities.
- Analytical mindset to assess training effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
Licenses and Certifications
- Instructional design, trainer, and/or facilitator certification preferred.
