Location: 4075 S. Center Road Burton, Michigan 48519 Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% inpatient (with outpatient cross coverage) Case Load: 100% Adult Position Overview: Ascension Medical Group Michigan has partnered with Henry Ford Health to provide premium, personalized healthcare to their workforce and is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant within family medicine. No new graduates will be considered. In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.| Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.| Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required by * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL. Experience * Minimum of 2 years' experience as an APP. Skills * Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment. * Commitment to patient-centered are and continuous professional development.
