About the Role:


Uniti Fiber is seeking an experienced, Carrier Relations planner to support the local market team on deployment of telecommunications-related projects.



What You'll Do:



  • Support the company by sourcing network capacity via off-net vendors.
  • Evaluate and locate optimal access vendors to develop telecommunications solutions for the company.
  • Interface with sales, engineering, and operations teams to develop last mile solutions to sites requiring off net capacity.
  • Create buy vs build business cases that assess the viability of the planner's proposed access decisions.
  • Create purchase orders and requests for proposal (RFP) for sourcing off-net capacity.
  • Perform network optimization on existing off-net inventory finding and delivering cost savings.
  • Constantly work to reduce off-net spend and minimize company's off-net spend.
  • Ensure accuracy of all invoices and execute timely disconnects of unneeded capacity.
  • Support the sales team as a Subject Matter Expert in network interconnection and off-net capacity pricing.
  • Initiate all purchase order requisitions.
  • Match invoices to Purchase Order's prior to Purchase Order approval.
  • Interface with Finance on Purchase Orders and invoice processes, as required.
  • Maintain project trackers (Excel, Access, Primavera, etc.) for schedules.
  • Interface with internal project team for reporting and monitoring of project progress.
  • Provide purchase order reconciliation reports.



Do You Have:



  • BS or BA Degree required or comparable experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in purchasing, cost management, or contract management.
  • Experience with financial planning, reporting, and tracking.
  • Experience with contract negotiation.
  • Experience in access planning, network provisioning, or network planning highly valued.



Even Better:



  • Site acquisition or real estate knowledge would be a plus.
  • OSP Construction knowledge would be a plus.
  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task and detail oriented.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
  • Experience with GIS packages such as Google Earth, MapPoint or Map Info is highly valued.
  • Relationship management - ability to develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong negotiating and deal making skills.
  • Presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
