Primary Purpose of Position |
Temporary Verification Specialist - STEPS4GROWTH will be responsible for ensuring all participant data reported by the subawardees is accurate. This includes reviewing the data the students self-report, as well as confirming job placement data when participants get jobs. They will be responsible for helping to maintain the databases of how we collect data so they should have some familiarity with database management in systems like Qualtrics, Excel, etc...They will ensure all data is accurately included on quarterly reporting for the funding agency. This position will have heavier workloads at the end of each reporting quarter. The position will also help track past participants, who have not yet reported a job placement. They will handle S4G communications directly with the participants in conjunction with the program through tools like emails and texts. As a recipient of this information, they will also share any potential successes we might want to highlight in our communications channels or identify potential challenges that need to be addressed. They will work closely with the Business Officer or Business Services Coordinator to confirm eligibility for wraparound services to be processed. Confidentiality is a must in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
*Data verification: Checking the accuracy of information for participants in STEPS4GROWTH.
*Confidentiality: Must ensure data collected is safely stored and shared with as appropriate and in compliance with all grant and institution guidelines.
*Cross-checking: Using various tools and databases to verify information against reliable sources.
*Communication: Communicating with external entities like educational institutions, participants and possibly employers.
*Confirmation: Confirms all items are verified and submitting the names of students eligible to receive wraparound assistance to the correct office to be processed.
*Data management: Ensures all database tools used are maintained and accurately used.
*Reporting: Compiling and presenting comprehensive reports.
*Collaboration: Working with the S4G team to be in alignment with the program goals and activities to share information and ensure compliance with the data distribution.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:00 - 5:00. |

The Ph.D. in Computational Data Science and Engineering is an interdisciplinary graduate program designed for students who seek to use advanced computational methods to solve problems involving big data, extensive computations, and complex modeling, simulation, optimization and visualization.
The M.S. in Data Science and Engineering is an interdisciplinary graduate program designed for students who seek to use computing and data science and engineering to solve problems involving big data, extensive computations, and complex modeling, simulation, optimization and visualization.
The mission of the Department of Computational Data Science and Engineering is to graduate professionals who (a) have expertise in developing novel computational methodologies and products, and/or (b) have extended their expertise in specific disciplines (in science, technology, engineering, and socioeconomics) with computational tools.
Research in Computational Data Science and Engineering includes: big data and computational statistics, AI and Machine Learning, internet of things, large and complex systems, intelligent transportation and infrastructure systems, remote sensing, autonomous vehicles, virtual and augmented reality, e-commerce, image and video processing, scientific and interactive visualization, high-performance computing, scalable algorithms, bioinformatics, and multi-scale multi-physics engineering systems.

Minimum Requirements |
Bachelor's Degree in related field and at least 3 years' experience. All degrees must be received from properly accredited institutions. |

Master's Degree in related field and at least 5 years' experience. All degrees must be received from properly accredited institutions. Certification in Social Behavioral Research Investigators and Key Personnel is a plus. Database management experience a plus. |
