The Opportunity

TC Energy is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Estelline, SD to support our daily operations.

We are seeking students enrolled in the Energy Technology Program (Plant Maintenance) to support our Mechanical Technician Role at that location.

We engage our students in the very core of our operations. As a valued member of the team, you'll do exciting, challenging work, solve real world problems, and make a meaningful impact. You'll learn about the business and build your professional network by working closely with other skilled people at TC Energy. Every day will enhance your knowledge, skills and passion for what you do.

This opportunity can provide you with hands on experience with troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining turbines, gas compressors, standby generator engines, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, large-bank cooler fans and gear boxes, large diameter valves and operators, and other auxiliary equipment on site.

This internship can provide opportunities to read, interpret, and update drawings and schematics (P&ID and electrical). You may also be exposed to line locating on company pipelines and utility line patrols and its associated right-of-way maintenance.

Term length is 3 months.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in the Energy Technology Program or related program with at least one semester of education completed before the internship begins in May of 2026.

  • Returning to school for at least one semester following your work term.

  • Demonstrate a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting

  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment

  • Willingness to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities

  • Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
