Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior/Lead Data Business Analyst - Data Governance & Integration for a 12 month contract role with our client in St. Paul, MN. This role is 90% remote.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior/Lead Data Business Analyst with deep expertise in data migration and Agile delivery to play a critical role in establishing and operationalizing our new Data Governance function. You'll be ensuring the quality, consistency, and integrity of enterprise data across multiple environments and applications by leading data cleansing, mapping, integration, and migration initiatives-while embedding Agile best practices into each phase of delivery.. You will support the design documentation, and institutionalizing of governance processes, procedures, and standards.

For success, you will demonstrate your ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and will be comfortable with the ambiguity that comes with standing up new functions. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure data accuracy, security, and usability, while also providing leadership and guidance to data teams and business partners.

Experience working with state correctional agencies or justice/public safety entities is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data migration efforts, including source analysis, extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), reconciliation, and post-go-live validation activities across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on data cleansing, migration, and validation activities -ensuring alignment to sprint deliverables and Definition of Done
  • Develop, implement, and document processes, procedures, and standards for the Data Governance functions that integrate seamlessly into Agile workflows
  • Establish and maintain data dictionaries, data catalogs, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation -iterating with stakeholders through user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and utilize data and reporting inventories to ensure consistent, accurate and relevant self-service reporting capabilities for the business.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, confidentiality, and security standards accross migration capabilities
  • Serve as an agile liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and data flows -translating requirements into prioritized user stories.
  • Analyze and document business processes, workflows, and data flows to support sprint planning and backlog refinement.
  • Support integration of disparate data sources into enterprise reporting and analytics platforms, leveraging incremental delivery..
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in data governance and agile integration best practices.
  • Champion a data-driven culture and help shape the governance function from the ground up and support agile retrospectives.


Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business, or related field or 5+ years of experience in business/data analysis with increasing responsibility.

  • Expertise in data cleansing, mapping, integration, migration(ETL) and governance
  • Proven track record applying Scrum or Kanban methodologies: creating user stories, prioritizing backlogs, and driving sprint execution
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Gov Commercial Cloud, Power BI, and enterprise data catalogs/dictionaries
  • Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices, and standards
  • Demonstrate ability to document processes, standards, and workflows and acceptance criteria
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors on migrationand validation activities
  • Ability to tolerate and navigate ambiguity when creating processes and governance frameworks from the ground up
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills in a sudo Agile enviornment


Preferred

  • Experience with state correctional agencies or justice/public safety entities
  • Familiarity with corrections-related data
  • Experience leading cross-functional, agile data initiatives
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations for sensitive government/justice data


Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay: $65.00 to $75.00/hour

We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
