Description
The APP is responsible to assist with cardiothoracic and vascular consultations and pre-operative evaluation. Additionally, the APP will evaluate and treat all post operative cardiothoracic patients once they are discharged from the hospital. This role involves physical examination, wound evaluation and care, prescribing and managing medications, and communicating with other APPs and physicians regarding the coordination of care for the cardiothoracic patient. The physician assistant (PA) functions in an interdependent role via a delegation agreement. By using the delegation agreement the PA is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings. The PA will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The PA also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals and documents services rendered. This is one APP role to be filled as either a NP or PA . Salary range: $74.95-100.86/hourly Qualifications
