The SBLD Loan Closer facilitates the closing of government guaranteed loans in compliance with Bank and the U.S. Small Business Administration policies and approvals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews data systems and physical records for accuracy
- Reviews and analyzes the Bank and SBA's approval to complete an initial loan closing checklist for the required documentation to close the loan in accordance with the Bank's policy and SBA Authorization;
- Works closely with SBA Banker, Lender, Closing Manager, and underwriting in gathering and documenting closing requirements and meeting customer expectations;
- Request documentation from third parties to complete requirements
- Keep SBA Banker and Closing Manager informed of progress to loan closing on at least a weekly basis; make best efforts to collect all pre-closing requirements at least five (5) business days before proposed closing date;
- Review data systems for documentation and update all applicable systems as to any activity on loan; including tracking expenses for each individual loan;
- Coordinate with Underwriter during the closing process regarding necessary loan modifications;
- Identify and perform necessary pre-closing lien search duties;
- Review third party reports for sufficient insurance coverage and lien positions;
- Ensure adequate approval authority is obtained prior to closings;
- Review all loan documents provided for signature in advance to confirm the complete and accurate package;
- Obtain funding instructions and prepare any funding instruction documentation;
- Address and clear any collateral exceptions issued on loans closed;
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous Loan Processing/Closing (Preferred)
- Previous SBA job related (Preferred)
Computer Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (e.g. create templates, complete mail merges, insert and edit charts)
