Who You Are:

Versar Applied Professional Technical Solutions ("APTS"), with office locations in Washington, DC, Columbia MD, Newport News, VA, Greenville, SC and Dallas and El Paso, TX, is currently seeking a leader to serve as Director of Water Resilience. This individual will lead the strategy and execution of a water resilience program through development and implementation of comprehensive strategy to build a successful practice. This role will report to the and be a critical member of the APTS Leadership Team. The director will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory bodies to implement sustainable and innovative solutions that protect and sustain water resources.

This position will require allocation of time to both program/project work, as well as leading implementation of strategic initiatives. The Director will serve as a thought leader, build and/or mentor a team of scientists and engineers to support the program, and drive innovative solutions for Customers that differentiate Versar. Serving in this role may require travel to internal and external meetings within the Continental US (CONUS), as well as possible OCONUS locations.

What You'll Do:

  • Cultivate, refine, and implement the strategic plan for the Water Resilience practice.
  • Lead the development and capture of innovative projects leveraging new techniques or technologies that improve water resilience, sustainment, and security.
  • Work with the APTS leadership team to implement and sustain Key Account Management plans for the most critical Customer relationships, including government end Customers as well as leading Prime Contractors in the APTS target markets.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams, senior leadership, external research institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to build and implement resilience initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums or other public facing venues, contributing thought leadership and building market leadership in water resilience.
  • Leverage his/her network to quickly test new ideas and validate opportunities at hand.
  • Establish and introduce new C-suite and/or leadership relationships with Customers and partners.

What You'll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience leading resilience and environmental programs and innovation. International experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering degree, or law focusing on environmental sciences, policy, and/or resilience. An advanced degree or other relevant certifications are plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably within or for federal Customers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US military and other federal environmental markets. Possessing 10 or more years of working in these markets.
  • The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to travel, as required.
  • Must be compliant with immunization requirements of the USG for government workers and contractors.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US Federal Government defense and security programs and contracts experience.
  • US Federal Government leadership or international business experience are a plus.
  • An active security clearance (Secret or above), or if recently lapsed, the ability to renew, is a plus.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $190,000 to $210,000

Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Location Requirements

The position will be based at the Washington, DC, Columbia, MD, or Newport News, VA office locations.
