A day in the life of a CAD Engineer:
As a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Engineer at Hexagon US Federal, you will play a key role in delivering and supporting mission-critical Public Safety solutions. Your work will include the installation, configuration, and testing of Hexagon Public Safety products and interfaces in both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments, supporting agencies such as Police, Fire, and EMS.
You may also travel to customer sites to provide hands-on support, whether maintaining existing Hexagon systems, troubleshooting technical issues, or leading the deployment of new solutions. Every day brings a mix of technical problem-solving, collaboration with teammates, and direct engagement with customers to ensure their systems run seamlessly in 24/7 operational environments.

This job is for you if you:
  • Are passionate about providing solutions to a variety of complex customer problems by utilizing your strengths in troubleshooting and implementations.
  • You will apply both your technical and functional knowledge in contributing to project delivery by providing your services for a variety of clients in the Public Safety industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years' experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of IT systems.
  • Comfortable working with multiple software and hardware platforms, including servers, workstations and network equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
  • Experience documenting technical issues and solutions in ticketing systems and project deliverables.
  • Experience with administering Active Directory
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database structures
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical environments, including after-hours or on-call support
  • Experience working in Public Safety (Fire, EMS, Police) environments is a plus.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent applicable experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification (preferred) or must be obtained with 6 months of hire date.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to customer sites.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing as it relates to conveying technical information internally and externally.
  • Ability to investigate problems or malfunctions and recommend solutions or corrective actions.
  • Shares knowledge and assists others in the completion of their tasks to support team goals.
  • Ability to keep abreast of changing software technology.
  • Ability to work directly with customers in solving hardware/software problems.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team with little supervision and guidance.

Required Level of Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, if required. Security Clearance not required at the time of hire.
