Job Summary The Supervisor, Regulatory Support Services, leads a team responsible for managing regulatory and legal activities with a focus on regulatory legal matters. This includes ensuring timely and accurate preparation of filings and supporting communications related to rate cases, compliance and other regulatory proceedings. This role drives compliance with regulatory requirements and supports strategic initiatives in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Essential Functions
- Oversees compliance with regulatory rules, procedural schedules and internal deadlines, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulatory commitments.
- Coordinates the preparation, review and filing of documents or materials for regulatory and litigation proceedings.
- Supervises and executes research, reporting, and other activities in support of rate and regulatory strategy, discovery, communications, filings, and litigation.
- Reviews regulatory and litigation filings for completeness and accuracy while meeting established deadlines.
- Manages and maintains official records, including tariffs, confidential documents and other critical materials.
- Supervises, mentors and develops team members in the performance of their essential duties and responsibilities.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including legal counsel, consultants and professional staff to advance regulatory and rate related objectives.
- Manages administrative tasks, including processing invoices through S2P Hub (Coupa), performing research in SAP to locate invoices and verify payment, ensuring proper coding and routing approval, and maintaining official documentation.
- Reviews and approves timesheets, manages vacation schedules for administrative staff, and ensures adequate coverage to support department activities
Education Description
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in marketing, finance, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics or related fields from an accredited college or university.
- In lieu of college degree, may substitute a high school diploma and paralegal certification.
- In lieu of paralegal certification, may substitute a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in legal, rate or regulatory matters
Experience
- Requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in rate, regulatory or legal support roles.
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role coordinating regulatory or legal administration and support activities
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Licences/Certifications, Abilities & Personal Characteristics (KSLAPS):
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide team, delegate effectively and drive successful outcomes.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to work well within a team and to marshal resources (professional staff, legal counsel, consultants, etc.) as necessary to develop and to maintain support for rate or regulatory matters.
- Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely with a variety of individuals, both internal and external.
- Able to learn and to apply knowledge of complex policies, procedures, laws and regulations affecting rate and regulatory reports, rate filings, tariffs and other rate and regulatory matters.
- Proficiency in office productivity tools ((Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) and ability to adapt to specialized regulatory software. Knowledge of SAP and S2P Hub (Coupa) is also preferred.
- Able to perform computer-assisted research utilizing software and the Internet.
- Knowledge of corporate policies, business strategies and operational processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Able to provide a valid state driver's license, present and maintain a safe driving record and to operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
