Director of UP Operations Location: Position can be located at a City Light & Power (CLP) location, or remote in a state where CLP is registered CLP is seeking a Director of UP Operations to oversee the operation of all Utility Privatization (UP) contracts in the organization. CLP has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the US, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems, as well as outdoor street, sport, and other recreational lighting. The Director will work with the locations to manage the UP Operations' strategies, processes, and functions to ensure efficient and effective performance on all aspects of the contracts. This role involves reviewing and overseeing operational plans, budgets, and collaborating with other executives to achieve business goals. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and communicate the strategic direction of the UP Operations.
- Collaborate with COO to develop and meet UP Operations' goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
- Collaborate with other divisions and departments to carry out the UP Operation's goals and objectives.
- Oversee and lead the team providing guidance and support.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
- Work with COO to establish UP Operations project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities.
- Establish and administer the UP Operations budget by reviewing and approving cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
- Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the executive team.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the industry.
- Ensures compliance with UP Contracts and all relevant regulations and standards.
- Establish, communicate and implement policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution across the UP Operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.
- A minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of industry-related experience including five years in upper management required.
- Project Management experience required.
- Proven track record of success in business development, strategy, and leadership.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and negotiating agreements.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Prior Military Service with Installation Management/Engineering experience is a plus.
- Experience with CLP may be substituted for any of the required qualifications.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Direct reporting relationship with Regional Managers.
- Provide oversight of the daily workflow of the Installations.
- Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Company policy.
Travel:
- Travel to other locations 30-40%.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- You must be a US Citizenn
- You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
- A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy required.
