Primary Purpose Supervises the repair and maintenance of all aspects of facility operations. Responsible for installation and repair of hospital required components other than biomedical and technical equipment, ensuring 24-hour continuous operations for Parkland. Minimum Specifications Education:
- Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- Must have six (6) years of experience working with the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, to include supervisory experience.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for the experience requirements.
- Prefer experience in a complex healthcare facility
Certification/Registration/Licensure:
- Must have a Texas Class C Driver's License.

Responsibilities:
- Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees, making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.
- Supervises the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment (rolling stock, and general hospital required equipment), other than biomedical equipment, ensuring around the clock operations in order for the hospital to provide continuous patient services. Monitors maintenance program and updates as needed. Performs routine inspections of work in progress to ensure proper and timely completion. Utilizes available resources to ensure prompt and efficient services to Parkland.
- Develops and updates preventive maintenance plan ensuring implementation and carry through of program. Conducts routine inspections (including elevators, escalators, and automatic doors), checking for needed repairs and avoiding down time. Maintains records of equipment that are reaching the end of their useful life for budget planning purposes. Demonstrates logical and systematic planning of outages in order to minimize downtime, risk, and inconvenience to Parkland.
- Requisitions and distributes supplies, equipment, and replacement parts for repairs and maintenance work orders for work to be completed as needed.
- Assists with developing, implementing, monitoring, and revising annual goals and objectives for the repair & maintenance area, that support the missions and objectives of Parkland.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with management, vendors, and other hospitals employees, in order to ensure effective departmental operations.
- Monitors annual budgets to ensure the repair and maintenance area has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established for the department.
