The IP Routing Business Center (BC) Consulting Engineering team leads the technical sales process of our IP and network automation technologies and related services to CSPs, Webscale customers and Enterprise customers. We work closely with the Business Development, Sales, IP Product Management, and IP Product Marketing teams to help effectively capture IP products revenue in the Americas region.

The consulting engineering team is responsive to the needs of our customers and their sales teams, acting as their trusted advisor for IP products and solutions. As part of this team, you'll have the opportunity to develop strong technical background in IP Routing, vendor pre-sales support and a clear understanding of the sales process. You will often be in the position to drive required next steps toward technical acceptance of Nokia solutions with customers directly and in collaboration with consulting engineering and sales teams.


  • Dedicate the first ~6 months to taking the technical training curriculum for the NRS-II certification in order to develop expertise in general IP routing technologies and Nokia-specific product knowledge, and chieve Network Routing Specialist II (NRS-II) Certification
  • Participate in a customer team that develops the technical strategy for various opportunities and drive it to technical acceptance by the customer, and meet customer decision makers and communicate verbally or via presentation tools the exact details of Nokia's IP product capabilities and the specific solutions being offered to the customer.
  • Develop technical collateral, such as white papers, PowerPoint presentations, and TCO analysis to demonstrate to customers how Nokia's products and delivery capabilities are their best option for success.
  • Assist in the tendering processes, which may involve writing solution documentation and executive summaries, as well as responding to RPI/RFP.
  • Work with Product Line Managers Drive to drive product development using customer feedback collected during the sales process.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science (or similar technical degree)
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity in related areas (Data Networking, Automation, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Excellent customer communication etiquette, presentation skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to dedicate time to learning through documentation, shadowing more senior employees, asking questions, etc. and be willing to put those learnings to use
  • Must be willing to travel for training and internal and external meetings as required.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Hands-on experience with IP routing technologies (IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP) and VPN solutions (MPLS, Segment Routing, VxLAN, EVPN, IPVPN).
  • Knowledge of traffic engineering concepts including SR-TE and PCE/PCEP architectures.
  • Familiarity with modern data center networking, virtualization platforms (Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware), and network automation tools (YANG, NETCONF, gNMI).
