Job Description:

As a member of our Underwriting Support team, the Technical Assistant on our Underwriting Tools Team will assist commercial underwriters and underwriting assistants with the processing of new and existing customer analysis tools. In this role, you will provide support in completing loss trending, compliance tools and pricing models for the underwriting team. Your Technical Assistant underwriting experience will be used to maintain accurate records, documentation, and process paperwork in a timely manner. You will also work with our vendor partner to analyze the digitized submission information for use with the tools you prepare, as well as store the digitized submission for use by the underwriting team.


Responsibilities:



  • Maintain task assignments and record keeping for performance management.
  • Perform a wide range of underwriting tool processing including trending and pricing models.
  • Review rating, loss runs and submission documents for commercial line policies.
  • Obtain current information from Underwriter and Underwriting Assistant to complete the appropriate models.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum five years in commercial insurance underwriting support experience, large accounts work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of all commercial line coverages, endorsements, loss runs, rules and regulations is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks is essential.
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments will be needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and solid verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Ability to interpret WC loss runs and break down Medical Only and Lost Time claims in order to analyze the risks and exposures of an account.
