Summary:

The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in driving the successful execution of complex, cross-functional projects aligned with corporate strategy. This position is responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle-from initiation through closure-ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget. The role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to coordinate internal teams and external partners, manage resources, mitigate risks, and maintain high-quality standards. The Senior Project Manager will oversee projects that may be systems, technology, or process improvement driven, and will be accountable for project documentation, stakeholder communication, and executive reporting. A strong sense of ownership, strategic thinking, and customer-centric mindset are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. This is a hybrid role based out of Corporate Office in Holyoke, MA. (3 days in office / 2 days remote).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Excellence: Lead projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget-driving measurable business value.
  • Own the Process: Champion the full project lifecycle, proactively managing milestones, dependencies, and deliverables to keep momentum strong and outcomes successful.
  • Document with Precision: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including charters, scope statements, plans, workflows, risk assessments, and system configurations to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Financial Stewardship: Monitor budgets closely, analyze financial impacts, and adjust constraints as needed to optimize project performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify and escalate potential risks early, offering strategic solutions to keep projects on track and stakeholders informed.
  • Executive Engagement: Provide clear, concise project updates to senior leadership, including executive summaries for key stakeholders at critical milestones.
  • Lead with Impact: Guide cross-functional teams by assigning roles, setting expectations, and ensuring accountability for timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure Seamless Transitions: Oversee project closure and handoff processes to guarantee smooth transitions and long-term success.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with project leads to explore emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor solutions, including risk assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Celebrate Success: Foster team morale by organizing recognition events at major milestones and project completions.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current by attending relevant conferences and training sessions, enhancing your expertise and bringing fresh insights to the team.
  • Compliance & Standards: Complete all required compliance training and uphold federal, state, and internal regulations, while embodying the organization's CARE standards.
  • Flexibility: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support evolving business needs and strategic priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University.
  • 5-7 years related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years Project Management experience involving business or financial analytical experience.
  • Banking, Financial Services and / or related industry preferred.
  • Experience with Information Security and / or IT preferred.

Certifications Requirement:

Project Management Certification Required OR in process of obtaining Project Certification

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Experience with Teams and Visio preferred
  • Experience with project management software tool
