PURPOSE/SCOPE:
The Intermediate Shop Rep will function within a team to assemble and manage the production from receiving parts to shipping finished machines.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Clean, Prep and Make Ready machines for Reconditioning
* Teardown and rebuild a variety of used Tennant equipment
* Perform housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
* Understand, participate and focus on continuous improvement activities
* Troubleshoot and adjust to build a quality product
* Perform on a minimum of models, as well as perform on other models
* Learn product through Self Study and Hands on experience and Guidance from Shop Supervisor
* Assist in all aspects of the reconditioning process
* Satisfy, in a timely and complete fashion, required service-related documentation: time sheets, repair orders, machine checklists, receiving records expense reports, inventory control forms and any other service related documents
* Process requires a moderate amount of troubleshooting and adjustment to build a quality product.
* Maintain company tools and equipment
* Perform in-process quality checks and communicate results
* Follow pre-established guidelines, procedures, plans and priorities as set by the supervisor
* Prioritize goals and rely on experience and judgment to plan work
* Take on new activities or special assignments when given
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Consistently present professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment
* Punctuality is a must for this position and individuals should have reliable means of transportation to and from work

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent
* Technical Degree within a related field from an accredited institution or 2-5 years of related mechanical assembly experience
* You must be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within mechanical and electrical assembly
* History of continuous improvement within previous positions
* Related manufacturing experience is preferred
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Proficient understanding of mechanical and electrical parts and how they are assembled into product systems
* Ability to proactively recognize, communicate, and elevate issues to leadership to minimize impact to line
* Ability to navigate and become proficient with Microsoft Windows, WorkForce
* Able to meet time standards in all areas of training
* Ability to effectively overcome issues (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.) commonly found within the reconditioning processes
* Ability to train others on known assembly processes
* Understands the function of the product being built and how their work impacts functional and quality results
* Ability to be trained on multiple assembly models
* Ability to follow detailed work instructions
* Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools and simple electrical devices
* Ability to work with limited direct supervision

REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
* Ability to solve problems
* Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment
* Willingness to be flexible with time and adjust to a changing work environment
* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships, both internally and externally, while maintaining client service orientation
* Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information
* Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business
* Ability to take direction and accept supervision
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, understand when urgency is required and use good judgment in varied situations

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
* You must be able to lift 60 pounds, with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds. Occasionally it may be required to lift items weighing up to 90 pounds. Assistance should be provided for items weighing over 60 pounds
* Position requires sitting, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling
* You must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes
* Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
* Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts
* Occasionally exposed to hot conditions
* Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes
* Gasoline, diesel, and LP. Antifreeze, grease, lubricants, cleaning fluids/detergents, and solvents. Battery acid and related fumes. Noise to 87 decibels.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
* Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel-toed shoes and hearing protection

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $48,600 - 73,100.

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
