Johnson Controls, Inc. is looking for a Plant Operator for our Wastewater Treatment Plant. This position performs complex technical work in the operation and daily management of wastewater treatment plant equipment and systems. Plant Operators operate and maintain the Wastewater Treatment Plant and assure plant processes are compliant with local, state, and federal discharge limits and land application regulations; protect the health and safety of personnel, the public and the environment. Essential duties will include:
Qualification requirements: Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to candidates possessing post-secondary education in Water Resource Management or 3 - 5 years experience on a waste water environment. Language skills: Ability to read and understand written instructions, e.g. safety notices and rules, test procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, etc. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical skills: Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply all basic math functions, e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Computer skills: Demonstrated ability to work within Microsoft Office applications. Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Work environment: While the Company makes every effort to reduce and eliminate all safety hazards, this type of environment does involve safety hazards which require extra care on the part of the employee. Performing this job the employee is occasionally (or regularly) exposed to the following environmental factors: cold, heat and humidity. Exposure to caustic soda and phosphoric acid and other chemicals associated with sanitation. PPE will be provided when necessary. |
