Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented HR Generalist with a strong focus on employee benefits administration and leave of absence management. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, with primary accountability for overseeing employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with federal and state leave laws. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in HR practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

Benefits Administration

    Administer and coordinate all employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k), wellness, and ancillary benefits.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment, including employee communication and system setup
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits questions, plan options, claims issues, and enrollment changes.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate processing and timekeeping.
  • Stay up-to-date on benefits trends, legal requirements, and compliance (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, etc.).

Leave of Absence Management

  • Coordinate and manage all employee leaves of absence including FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, parental leave, and personal leaves.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees on leave, providing guidance on eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate leave tracking, documentation, and communication in compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
  • Partner with managers, payroll, and third-party administrators to ensure seamless leave processes.
  • Maintain confidential leave records and reporting logs.

General HR Support

  • Support HR team with projects, audits, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Facilitating invoice creation and supporting processes
  • Be a primary liaison between employees, broker, and vendors for benefits issues
  • Assist in maintaining employee records and HRIS data integrity.
  • Help maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates.
  • Respond to general HR-related inquiries from employees and managers.


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education: BA or BS

Years of Experience: 4 - 7 years of exprience

Certifications: HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 4-7 years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits and leave administration.
    • Working knowledge of employment laws related to benefits and leave (FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).
    • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
    • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Customer-service mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
    • Strong Excel skills and other Microsoft 365 suite of products
