Position Overview
This part time position is responsible for coordinating, and/or teaching NFPA 1021 Fire Officer I and II, NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector I and II, volunteer fire officer, and National Fire Academy direct delivery courses and programs; This position coordinates and collaborates with other program coordinators and managers and reports to the Fire & Rescue Program Manager
Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute is a unit of KU Lifelong and Professional Education (LPE) housed on the Lawrence campus. The Institute was created in 1949 by Kansas legislature with the mission to train and credential Kansas firefighters in local jurisdictions. The Institute serves fire departments and firefighters through a "traveling instruction service," providing hundreds of training and certification events each year in counties across the State of Kansas. The mission of Kansas Fire & Rescue Training Institute is to provide accessible, comprehensive training and credentialing for fire and emergency response personnel to promote health and safety in Kansas communities. 5% - Other duties as assigned: Position Requirements Frequent in-state travel will be required for this role. A valid drivers license is required at time of hire and for the duration of appointment.
