Pay Rate: $42.00/hr. on W2 without benefits

Duration: 06+ months

Work Hours: General Shift Timing 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Description:

  • The Deputy Director of Property & Asset Management leads and oversees the management of DMV's statewide property portfolio, including real estate, vehicle fleet operations, and procurement activities, to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective facility and asset management. This role ensures DMV facilities and resources are maintained in optimal condition, aligns fleet operations with agency standards, and coordinates procurement processes to support agency-wide needs. The position requires expertise in real estate, procurement, and regulatory compliance, with a high level of interaction with DMV leadership, law enforcement, and government agencies.


Organizational Objectives:

  • Facilities are comprised of three subdivisions: Planning and Design (PD), Maintenance and Operations (MO), and Property and Asset Management (PAM). PD oversees construction and inspections, ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and budget standards. MO keeps facilities and equipment operational, supporting compliance and technical services. PAM optimizes assets, manages properties, and oversees key programs like fleet transportation and risk management. These facilities all work together to ensure DMV's resources are efficiently managed and ensure DMV operates smoothly and efficiently while being prepared for emergencies.

  • The role operates primarily in an office or hybrid remote environment, characterized by moderate noise levels, occasional interruptions, and a workspace in either open-plan or cubicle settings. Temperature Conditions are generally stable, with minimal exposure to extreme heat or cold.
  • Some flexibility may be required for overtime or on-call situations, with emergency response potentially necessitating availability beyond typical hours.
  • Travel is occasionally required to sites such as Virginia State Police locations, installation shops, and occasionally dealerships to oversee installations and vendor discussions. Travel is typically local and involves the use of a state vehicle.
  • To ensure personal safety, the role prohibits wearing items like chains or other accessories that could pose a risk in vehicle environments. Adherence to safety protocols in all job-related interactions is required to minimize health risks.
