Department: Radiation Oncology - VanElslander Cancer Center - Grosse Pointe Woods

FULL TIME- Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30 pm- NO weekends or major holidays

We are seeking a compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our dedicated oncology team at the Ven Elslander Cancer Center in Grosse Pointe. Our practice is equipped with advanced technologies including a GE CT Simulator, Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator with Identify, and the Varian Ethos Adaptive Therapy System. We provide a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care with a multidisciplinary support system.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by Radiation Oncologists with a strong emphasis on patient safety and accuracy.

* Operate and maintain equipment including GE CT Simulator, TrueBeam, and Ethos systems.

* Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.

* Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and team members.

* Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain accurate patient records in ARIA.

* Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous learning initiatives.

Qualifications:

* Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.

* Certified and licensed by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).

* Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

* Proficiency in ARIA radiation oncology software.

* Experience with advanced technologies including TrueBeam and Ethos preferred.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic parameters accurately.
  • Delivers appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician and dosimetrist.
  • Maintains detailed records of all therapy sessions.
  • Maintains and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
