Senior Product Safety Engineer
Your tasks

Position Summary:

Act as a Senior Product Safety Engineer for TUV SUD America, inspect, test, and photograph products for conformity assessment using international and national regulations with deliverables to clients being Certificates, Test Reports, and/or Technical Reports as quoted. Providing engineering expertise and operational support for Product Safety Testing.

This position is an on-site position in Alpharetta, GA.

Responsibilities:

Determine project scope, develop a preliminary plan of investigation, and determine project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.

Inspect, photograph, and document products for testing and assessment to international, national, and custom regulations.

Perform/oversee and monitor product testing/assessments to applicable requirements.

Collect and document test data following applicable test procedures and requirements. (In the form of a Test Report Form, analyze Test Data Sheets, graphical information, or others as defined by applicable project scope).

Support Scope Expansions for NRTL, and other related schemes by preparing applications and documentation for submittal to Certification Body.

Prepare accurate Compliance Reports, and/or Technical Reports, to the appropriate standards and/or procedures.

Ensure project timelines are adhered to, by completing work within the time allocated.

Generate revenue by billing engineering time to TUV SUD customers for testing activities.

Update Supervisors, Program Managers, Customers with ongoing project status.

Written and oral communication must be delivered in a prompt and effective manner to internal and external customers which includes, but not limited to; answering technical questions, relaying messagesand providing information related to standards and test procedures, communicating with engineers performing testing.

Adhere to all TUV SUD policies and procedures.

Your qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years working in a laboratory conducting electrical safety testing

Electrical/Electronic products Testing & Certification experience.

Project management experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of national and international electrical product safety standards; preferably standards associated with electric vehicle charging, batteries, energy storage systems, etc.

Knowledge of applicable standards committees; preference is for contacts and prior

Familiarity with many types of test equipment.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
