KEMET, a YAGEO Group company, is seeking an Equipment Programmer in Simpsonville, SC. This position works with an experienced, small team of engineers and technicians to build original
equipment designs and troubleshoot existing equipment as needed. The role focuses on participation on-site, in a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, in the KEMET Ceramics Equipment Engineering group; designing, building, and deploying equipment necessary for the manufacture and testing of ceramic capacitors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Develop machine controls and write software for equipment to be used in the various manufacturing and lab areas within the Ceramic Business Unit.

* Collaborate with other engineers to develop custom and/or modify equipment to meet new manufac-turing goals.

* Plan timelines and objective with project managers and customers targets in focus.

* Work with suppliers and outside experts to continue to improve KEMET equipment and processes.

* Interface with various groups such as production and R&D

* Develop a broad understanding of the equipment and technologies used to make Ceramic capacitors.

* Occasional domestic and international travel will be required - 10%.

Qualifications - Expected:

* The successful candidate will be a team player, a self-starter, have a good work ethic, effective time management skills, creativity, analytical skills, and strong communication skills.

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.

* Proven experience programming industrial equipment and successfully introducing this equipment into the production environment.

* Able to write and debug windows programs in C++, C# and Visual Basic

* Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, RS-232/485, and IEEE488.2

* Must have high proficiency with Microsoft Office products

* Ability to read and generate control panel drawings/schematics

Qualifications - Preferred:

* Working knowledge of CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)

* Experience working with SCARA robots and linear actuators

* Basic understanding of industrial test equipment such as source meters, oscilloscopes, LCR meters, Hi-Pot testers etc.

* Understand basic concepts of electrical testing of capacitors (Cp/Df/IR).

* Basic familiarity with databases and queries using SQL.

* Experience with industrial machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, Omron) and foundational op-tical knowledge

* Board level circuit design knowledge is a plus.

* Some familiarity with safety standards and codes (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
