The Opportunity

Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Field Services Practice Builder with deep expertise in survey, environmental, and right-of-way disciplines. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping and expanding our Field Services practice, driving growth in both revenue and geographic reach. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who thrives in cross-functional environments and is passionate about building strong, scalable service lines. The Field Services Practice Builder duties will include managing and developing other field services staff, coordinating with clients and business partners, business development activities, resource coordination with operations leaders, and oversight of project financial targets and goals.

What You'll Do



  • Lead the development and execution of market entry plans to grow the Field Services practice, with a focus on market integration and expansion.
  • Own, enhance, and grow our reputation as a preferred partner in Field Services services across a wide range of markets, including power, renewables, water and transportation.
  • Collaborate closely with Market Directors, Project Managers, and Client Team Leads to align strategies and ensure consistent service delivery across all field services disciplines and markets.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Field Services into new geographies and client segments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in survey, environmental, and right-of-way services to guide internal teams and support project success.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and development of high-performing Field Services talent; serve as a mentor and coach to staff across regions.
  • Drive business development efforts in collaboration across all Life Line Sectors, focusing on both organic growth and strategic pursuits.
  • Partner with operations and delivery teams to improve project execution, quality, and efficiency within the Field Services disciplines.
  • Support response to RFP efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with the Proposal Development Team and others as required.



What We Expect from You



  • 15+ years of progressive experience in survey, environmental, right-of-way, or related field services
  • Proven track record of building and scaling service offerings within a multidisciplinary organization
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate market needs into growth strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative leadership style
  • Proven experience in business development and/or consulting, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across business lines and geographies
  • In-depth knowledge of the field services sector, including market trends and the competitive landscape
  • Ability to lead through influence
  • AAS degree or higher in a relevant discipline required; licensure (e.g., PLS, PE, PMP) preferred
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

    Additional Opportunity Details:
    Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $155,500 - $210,300
    * Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job-specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role, and comparison to other employees already in this role.

    This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and will continue to be posted for an average of 60 days until a qualified applicant is selected or the position has been cancelled.
