Position Overview

The Training Delivery Manager is a key role responsible leading a group on instructors and training diverse DoD audiences, including range engineers, on operating the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE)-the world's largest cyber range. The candidate will be responsible for managing the training delivery team in preparing, scheduling, delivering, and evaluating technical training delivery. The candidate will partner with the Platform Training Team Lead, Platform Training Team Project Manager, and the content development team to ensure the writing of training materials specific to PCTE platform. This role involves delivering technical training virtually, in-residence, or in hybrid formats, and contributing to the development of effective training programs.

This position is located in the Annapolis Junction area and currently offers a hybrid work schedule based on current program requirements.



Responsibilities

    Coach and mentor team members to conduct professional virtual instructor-led training sessions and serve as a senior instructor, as necessary.
  • Serve as the first line supervisor for training delivery staff. Responsible for managing training instructor schedules, ensuring proper coverage, reviewing and approving timecards, conducting performance reviews, and other administrative tasks.
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Collaborate with content developers to create course-related objects like networks and frameworks for the PCTE platform.
  • Facilitate engaging instruction in virtual, in-person, or hybrid formats.
  • Apply effective classroom management techniques to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
  • Work with registrar to organize rosters, track student progress, and prepare detailed progress reports.
  • Partner with development team to curate library of training resources.
  • Continuously evaluate and hone technical instructional delivery skills and provide mentorship for instructor team.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training to meet client needs and applications.
  • Manage the training program in accordance with customer business needs.
  • Evaluate student assessments and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Analyze training programs and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness.
  • Provide tailored one-on-one instruction.
  • Occasional travel may be required (as part of a mobile training team) up to 25% of the time.


Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain an IAT Level II or III certification within 6 months.
  • Strong communication skills - the ability to translate technical topics to non-technical audiences and the ability to provide analysis of complex issues in easily understood ways. Extensive experience with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are important.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and an ability to work with others through difficult situations.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in technical instruction, with an emphasis on computer networking and cybersecurity. Strong understanding of computer networking principles, including TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, firewalls, and LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Familiarity with IT operations, VMware vSphere or NSX, Microsoft Active Directory, Linux, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, Puppet or Ansible, and networking technologies.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical training programs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
    Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Strong preference for previous experience in teaching/instructing material on PCTE.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification or other active DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III certification, strongly preferred.
  • DevOps experience.


Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status and a TS/SCI security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.



Salary Range

Based on the roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $160,000 - $207,000.

The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, CESI also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions. In addition, CESI provides an extensive selection of benefits and offerings to our employees.
