How You'll Perform the Role

The Sales Engineer supports the technical and operational needs of one of our largest customers. This role ensures packaging solutions meet functional, cost, and service requirements while also ensuring new, innovative solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. The Sales Engineer helps managing packaging transitions, resolve technical and quality challenges, and supports project execution across a range of product categories.

This role reports to a National Account Manager acting as an internal liaison for the customer with our internal teams spanning Commercial Excellence, Category Management, Innovation & Sustainability, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities



  • Supports new and existing product development, packaging changes, and sustainability initiatives by translating customer requirements into internal action plans
  • Serves as a technical resource during customer discussions, presentations, and reviews, providing input on feasibility, timelines, and specifications while balancing design for manufacturing efficiencies
  • Partners with Category Sales Leaders to manage project execution, including line trails, material validations, and artwork approvals as necessary
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production schedules, order fulfillment, and capacity planning with customer needs
  • Collaborates with Operations and Innovation & Sustainability to develop cost-savings ideas, and ensure performance standards are met
  • Manage packaging specifications, CADs, and item-level technical documentation in coordination with internal systems and customer requirements
  • Ensure packaging components meet all regulatory, quality, and customer-specific guidance
  • Track and communicate project status across multiple stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Other duties, as assigned


What We Need From You

Critical Skills & Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree; Packaging, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical or packaging role, ideally in foodservice/CPG
  • Working knowledge of materials, converting processes, and packaging equipment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to simplify technical content to stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Experience with technical documentation, CAD files, and other tools
